Lucky Dog Park LLC is Port Washington's Premier Dog Park. Our mission is to provide a safe, clean environment for dogs to play, exercise and socialize in appropriate ways.
Lucky Dog Park LLC (LDP) is a privately-owned dog park. We hope to build a community of responsible dog owners through memberships to the park. We are in the process of launching LDP, and will open on July 1, 2013.
The difference between a private park vs a public one is that we are not subsidized by tax or municipal dollars, and we are not run by a nonprofit or group of volunteers. Our member fees help us keep the park up and running. The positives to a private park are that we have control of how the park is used, and who can enter. Owners Bob and Ellen will be on sight every day to monitor the park, and 24 hour surveillance via web cameras will be implemented for safety.
Our park is approximately one acre in size. That area will be divided into two sections, one for large dogs and one for small dogs. Anyone under 25lbs or 15 inches will be considered "small dog" and anyone over 25lbs or taller than 15 inches is considered "large dog". This separation is (again) for the safety of our members.
All dogs wanting to obtain entry to the park will have to meet with our staff, fill out the membership form and provide proof of vaccinations. Memberships are available for daily, monthly, yearly unlimited use, and we will also be offering a 10 Pass Punch Card. To gain membership, you'll need to make an appointment ahead of wanting to use the park. Entry will not be granted to non-members or dogs who do not pass our personality profile. This helps to ensure that any dogs entering the park are appropriate for a multi-dog setting.
Membership forms will be available starting Friday, June 28th. Stop in the office to pick one up.
We will be adding special events to the calendar as we get to know our members and what their interests are. Water, tennis balls and frisbees will be available in the park, as well as wading pools when the weather is warm to provide opportunity to cool off.
We look forward to meeting you and your canine companions as we move forward. Stay tuned to the Facebook page for more information as it becomes available. Thank you! See you in the park!
